Hop in a time machine to celebrate female beauty and girl power with this unique vintage themed bridal shower. Any bride who is infatuated with the retro styles of the 1950′s and 1960′s will love to have a full makeover into June Cleaver or a 1950′s pin-up model, courtesy of Dallas PinUp. This bridal shower will leave the bride with the perfect souvenir - a scrapbook of professional pin-up photos of her and all her friends. For all the details on this blast from the past, follow the jump.
Did you know that Dallas has our very own pin-up studio located in Deep Ellum? At Through the Looking Glass Studio they offer pin-up photo shoots, as well as hair and makeup classes, for both individuals and groups. When your guests arrive at the studio, they will be able to browse the Dallas Pin-Up store, as well as lounge around the studio. Different themes are available for the photo shoot, so be sure to pick one that represents the bride’s personality.
While Dallas Pin-up provides refreshments, your lovely guests will need some light bites to tie them over (being a model is hard work!). While you could offer your guests 1950′s staples like fruit and jello cake and tuna salad, I doubt that’s what they will want before a photo shoot. Instead, look to Celebrity Bakery, which offers catering options that include muffins, tea sandwiches, miniature appetizers, and their famous iced cookies. Refreshing flavored teas and glasses of bubbly are the perfect drinks to get your guests in the mood to turn on their inner pin-up model.
For this shower, all your have to do is show up and let the ladies behind Dallas Pin-up work their magic to transform everyone into a sassy 1950’s models and housewives. Each of your guests will undergo a pin-up makeover (which includes makeup, hair and costuming), then have an individual and group photo session.
All of your guests will receive their photos as a favor from Dallas Pin-up, so why not give them a vintage photo frame to display their favorite photo from the shower? We love these vintage inspired ones from local Etsy shops Frame it By Jill and Love for the World. Other fun party favors could include City of Angels perfume from Betty Lou and anything Anne Taintor.
