Ask the Expert: Flower Girls Too Young to Throw Flowers? Here are Some Options.

BabyCarriageThanks to Cebolla Fine Flowers for answering this week’s reader question:

My flower girls are not old enough to carry or throw flowers. Can I still incorporate flowers with them in some way?

Absolutely! The most popular options for flower girls are accents for their hair. From a simple hair pin to a flower headband, we like to make them using smaller flowers such as spray roses, freesia, and lisianthus buds.

If you are having a traditional wedding, a halo of baby’s breath is the perfect touch for your flower girls. And for the brides that like a garden look, we love to incorporate flowing greenery like sweet potato vines.

You can’t forget the ribbon! It makes all the difference, and we can help you choose the perfect combination. From long tails, to sweet bows, we love working with our brides to come up with just the right touch.

Here at Cebolla we like to think outside the norm! If your flower girl is too young to carry or throw flowers, she might enjoy riding in a wagon, or a vintage baby carriage! We decorated this carriage with a seeded eucalyptus garland, accented with blooms in shades of peaches and orange. Flowers spill over the top, which creates a stunning photograph. And remember, ribbon is key so we used it to decorate the handles.

After your ceremony, use the wagon to hold gifts, water bottles, or props for a photobooth. If there are other young children attending your wedding, their parents will surely appreciate a chance to take a precious photo!”

Great suggestions, I actually prefer little girls wheeling in flowers in a unique cart more than anything!
