You’ve got your workout and diet regimen in place, but what about your skin’s fitness plan? Enter Dallas skin guru Kate Tollefsrud. The daughter of Dr. Fathi G. Fam, the founder of the first accredited medical aesthetics school, opened a new concept spa in Highland Park focusing on getting the bride’s skin in shape. CosMedica Specialty Laser Spa & Skin Fitness Center uses highly specialized laser IPL and other medical aesthetic treatments to combat acne, scars, sun damage, wrinkles, rosacea, and tattoo removal. Her Bridal Aisle fitness program is geared towards bride, groom, and bridal party to ensure a picture perfect complexion with no impending skin disasters the week of the wedding. (What’s worse than waking up the week of a big event and you have an “undergrounder” waiting? Ugh!) The spa will also include a menu of prepping services like hair and makeup, eyelash extensions, and spray tanning.
Check out the spa (6160 Sherry Lane, Suite 110) at the opening cocktail reception on September 4. Guests are encouraged to bring new or lovingly worn wedding gowns to donate to Brides Against Breast Cancer, a touring sale of new and used gowns that benefits breast cancer patients. The event will also feature a couture wedding gown and tuxedo auction, a meet and greet with owner Tollefsrud and medical director D. Max F. Adler, complimentary spa services and demonstrations, and food and wine.
