Christina & Florian

Christina and Florian’s love story starts in Geneva, Switzerland. They were both studying at the University of Geneva pursing masters degrees in international politics and history. After a move to Zurich, Florian decided he would surprise Christina with a trip back to Geneva to pop the question. When Christina got off the train, Florian pointed out a QR code on the train platform and told Christina to scan it. She landed on a website with pictures and a story of their relationship, followed by another QR code. As the digital scavenger hunt continued, they traveled down memory lane to some of the most special places and stories of their relationship. They arrived at the edge of a gorgeous lake with a view of the French Alps where Florian got down on one knee.

When the couple was deciding on the perfect place to marry, they chose the Nasher Sculpture Center in the Arts District. “A lot of the decorations took care of themselves with the sparkling lights of downtown Dallas at night and the shadows of some exceptional art,” Christina says. As for their theme? They selected a lot of things they liked and hoped it would eventually create a cohesive whole. And it did. They ended up with a modern aesthetic and coral-and-silver color palette that the couple also describes as “funky formal.”

When Christina and Florian look back on October 18, 2014, many memories come to mind: a Michael Jackson impersonator, a spontaneous push-up contest with the band as they played LMAO’s song “I Workout,” and the guests who traveled all over the world to share the love.
