In 2014, my boyfriend moved his career to Silicon Valley. 6 months long distance was difficult but such a blessing as it solidified the strong foundation we built our relationship on. Monthly visits to the Bay area were full of new memories. One constant was a large rock overlooking the Bay on top of the Santa Cruz Mountains. We would stand on it together and soak up the views before heading to the airport. By spring 2015, I was a resident of California. It wasn’t but 47 days later that he proposed on that same rock expressing love and gratitude for my commitment to him and our future in California. We spent the weekend sipping wine and visiting Safari West in Napa – bucket list item! It was a weekend of new memories with my one constant by my side. Looking forward to our TEXAS wedding on May 14, 2016!

All of my childhood I’ve loved to figure skate. My fiancé, Gabe, and I met in college at SMU and would often go to the Galleria ice skating rink together as fun little dates. On the day of our proposal, we were supposed to meet my parents for an afternoon of shopping at the Galleria. Gabe suggested we go a bit early and spend some time at the ice rink prior to shopping. I of course loved this idea! We got out on the ice and he dared me to a spin competition. I completed my spin but when he went to try his he fell down dramatically. As I bent over to help him up, he got up only to one knee, pulled a ring box out of his jacket pocket, and asked me to be his wife. I was so surprised and excited to say yes!

My fiance, Caleb and I are high school sweethearts. When we graduated he went to Oklahoma state to play football and I went to TCU. Although the distance wasn’t easy, we knew we were meant to be. At the beginning of 2015, he began to seriously plan his proposal. The first step was to contact his partner in crime, Alex, my sister and best friend. My Uncle Don and Aunt Carol were notorious for inviting the family to extravagant social outings so Alex and Caleb knew this was the perfect opportunity to get me all dressed up without any suspicion. After talking with Uncle Don and deciding the plan, they had him fabricate an email invitation to the most extravagant black tie event. Now that the plan was in place, Caleb began contacting their friends and family to join them in the big surprise. The big day finally arrived! Alex and I had our hair and makeup done while Caleb was a nervous wreck, anxiously rehearsing his proposal in the mirror. Dinner was set with Don and Carol at 5:30pm at The Mansion. Caleb and I arrive and the host led us to a secluded area. When we walked in, I first noticed a photographer but didn’t think much of it. Then I turned and saw the most beautiful flower arrangement and rose pedals in the shape of a heart at our feet. Caleb led me to the center of the heart, pours out a heart wrenching speech and asks me if I will spend the rest of my life with him. I SAID YES, DUH!!!! The photographer asked us to walk around the hotel to take pictures while the table is set up for the two of us to dine together. A stroll around the property led us to a closed ballroom door and when opened, all of our friends and family were there waiting. What a surprise!! Needless to say, we celebrated late into the night with friends, food and great music. It was a storybook night of love!
