New York-based Lovely Bride Opens in Uptown

by Ryan Conner

Dallas brides have yet another boutique to shop for their dream dress. New York-based Lovely Bride‘s eighth location is open in Uptown on Routh Street. The “original indie bride shop” concentrates on fresh wedding accessories, emerging designers, and hard-to-find looks. (Some of the store’s lines are new to Dallas, including Odylyne the Ceremony and Suzanne Harward.) Owner Tory Moore has stocked the 2,100-square-foot boutique with some stunning designs from Christos, Watters, Ivy & Aster, Theia, and more.

The accessories are also on-trend. We spotted beaded belts and boleros by Carol Hannah, gilded hair accessories from Mignonne Handmade, vintage-style capes from Alexandra Grecco, and gorgeous veils (including a striking lavender beauty). The store’s California-cool setting includes four dressing rooms that are spacious with oversized mirrors and comfortable seating. We chatted with owner Moore to find out more about the new boutique.

Why is Dallas a good fit for the eighth outpost of Lovely Bride?
Every girl wants to feel special on her wedding day. My favorite thing brides say when they walk into the shop is: “Wow, I haven’t seen anything like this.” That’s exactly why we came to Dallas–to offer our Lovelies truly unique options they won’t find anywhere else!

Why did you choose the location in Uptown?
It has a very low key, laid-back vibe! I adore our huge magnolia trees out front and being in a home that was built over 100 years ago. The day you buy your wedding dress is one you never want to forget and our location sets the perfect scene.

What type of bride shops at Lovely Bride?
Prices start at $1,500 and go as high as $7,500, so we get a lot of different brides! In just a month I’ve had Italian elopements, Catholic church ceremonies, and mountaintop brides. Our founder once told me that it doesn’t matter what style a girl has–on her wedding day she just wants to feel like a bride. As I bought for the store, I really kept that mantra in mind!

What sets you apart from other bridal stores?
When Lovely opened its first New York City location in 2010, it was a game changer for the wedding industry. I believe we’ve continued to pave that path! We carry really quality designers, some that you won’t find anywhere else in Texas. Lovely Dallas was the second store in the states to carry the Australian designer Suzanne Harward, and if you don’t know her name yet, you will! We pay very close attention to what is going on in the industry and want to offer our brides the best lineup possible.

Favorite lines or dresses you have in the store now?
I am very excited about carrying Odylyne the Ceremony as well as Suzanne Harward. They both have very modern and cool takes on the wedding gown!
