Alana and Grant didn’t know they’d meet and fall for each other at their friend’s birthday bash, yet somehow Alana still nailed the “bride-to-be” look: She was dressed in white from head-to-toe (with sparkling Jimmy Choo heels no less). As soon as Grant and Alana locked eyes across the table, the rest was history!
A few years later, and several surprises spoiled by Alana’s masterful snooping skills, Grant had one surprise he knew he had to keep. The night of Alana’s birthday, Grant invited her to the Capital Grille at the Crescent, the same spot as their first date. After dinner, he walked her to the hotel’s Garden Room that he’d rented and managed to give her the biggest surprise of all. Surrounded by her favorite flowers, twinkling candles, photos of the couple, and live musicians playing her favorite songs, he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Alana said yes and Grant arranged for an open bar and their closest friends waiting and ready to celebrate their fairy tale moment.
Alana studied political science at Colgate University and went on to Southern Methodist Law school. She is now Vice President and General Counsel for the Dallas Stars. Grant earned his bachelor’s, master’s, and law degree from Texas Tech University and works in commercial real estate with Jones Lang LaSalle. They will marry Sunday, May 28, 2017, at Arlington Hall at Lee Park.
