The Couple

Birthday parties were a good luck charm for Emily and Hudson. They met at a mutual friend’s birthday soiree in May of 2013. Later that year, the same mutual friend invited Hudson to Emily’s birthday celebration, and the two hit it off. They went on their first date the next day and have never left each other’s side.

Emily graduated from Southern Methodist University with a major in corporate communications and public affairs. She works for Rubin Postaer and Associates. Hudson graduated from University of Texas at Dallas with a major in business. He works for Worldwide Express.

The Proposal

For the proposal, Hudson convinced an unassuming Emily to go on a walk with their pup and grab dinner at Trader Joe’s. As they were en route, they took a detour through Prather Park. A picnic–complete with Champagne, flowers, and a picture of the couple with their dog–was set up for the engagement. He got down on one knee and pulled out the ring. Much to Emily’s surprise, Hudson’s friend was also on site capturing the happy occasion. That night, Hudson planned a dinner where Emily’s three childhood friends traveled from near and far to join them in the celebration.

The Wedding

The couple will marry Saturday, May 6, 2017, at the Warwick Melrose Hotel.
