The Adolphus Hotel was built on Commerce Street by Adolphus Busch, the founder of Anheuser Busch. It was designed to recall the feeling of a European mansion: from the atrium living room anchored by antique fireplaces, to the lobby which resembles a convivial study. The recent renovation by the local design firm Swoon has changed it from Old World to worldly. It now has its own modern character with unexpected art and design touches around every corner.
The recent reimagining of The French Room and the resurrection of the original 19th ballroom have put The Adolphus back on the map in a big way. Brides who choose it as their wedding venue work with specialized planners who assist with design and execution. They also have access to a culinary team who’ll customize a menu to their taste.
