Though Lauren and Jed met and started dating while attending The University of Alabama, their bond strengthened as they geographically parted ways. Lauren moved to Las Vegas to start her advertising career, and Jed relocated to Winter Park, Florida to attend film school. After 18 months of cross-country flights and thousands of Skype calls, their long-distance relationship came to an end when Jed moved to Las Vegas. In August of 2013, the pair set their sights on Dallas and now call the city home.
Jed decided that their fifth anniversary was the perfect time to propose. He told Lauren to plan for a romantic night out and to clear her calendar for the weekend. Upon returning home from work that day, Lauren was greeted with flowers, candlelight, and a nervous Jed who got down on one knee. That evening, on February 19, 2016, Jed asked Lauren to be his wife. Shortly after he popped the question, Jed surprised Lauren with special guests–her parents and best friend drove in from Memphis, Tennessee to share the happy moment with the couple.
Lauren and Jed both attended the University of Alabama. Lauren earned both a bachelor and master of arts in advertising and public relations. She works at The Integer Group. Jed graduated with the bachelors in telecommunication and film. He is a freelance videographer and editor, working with clients such as Fox Sports Southwest, The Momentous Institute, 7-Eleven, and Frito Lay. They will marry Saturday, March 4, 2017, at Christ the King Catholic Church with a reception to follow at The Room on Main.
