Hannah Mitchell and Andrew Bergoon met two-stepping at Cowboys Red River in Dallas. After a few dances, Andrew mustered up the courage to ask Hannah out on a date. “And by the grace of our good Lord, she said yes,” Andrew says. The pair quickly became best friends, which Hannah had always hoped for in her future husband.
After about six months of dating, the couple celebrated Easter together in his hometown of Mobile, Alabama. Hannah fell in love with his family almost as fast as she fell in love with him. “Family has always been important to me, and this helped solidify that Andrew was the one,” Hannah says.
One day, Hannah made plans with her friend Amanda while Andrew was spending the day playing golf. After they grabbed lunch, Amanda convinced Hannah that they should go for a walk at Lakeside Park—where Hannah and Andrew had spent a lot of time. Without any suspicion, she agreed. As they walked, Andrew was waiting for her along with their family in the background. It was there that he got down on one knee and asked to spend the rest of their lives together. They celebrated the rest of the evening with family and friends.
Hannah turned to Stardust Celebrations when it came time to search for a dress. After trying on a handful, she knew something was missing. Her parents immediately started crying when she walked out in the last dress, knowing it was the one. “I couldn’t stop smiling knowing this would be the dress I would be marrying Andrew in,” Hannah says. Mayra Rams-Sanabria of My Fabulous Faces and hair stylist Sonia Trevino completed her classic, natural, and polished look for the big day. “They truly made me feel like a beautiful bride,” says Hannah.
On April 29, 2017, the couple said “I do” at Park Cities Presbyterian Church, a grand sanctuary with picturesque pipe organs. Before the ceremony, the couple shared a moment to pray together and get excited for their special day ahead.
Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed a perfect springtime wedding at Arlington Hall in shades of blush, ivory, and coral. “I love the main ballroom in Arlington Hall, but I wanted to guests to experience the tent as well. We invited guests to join us cutting the bride’s cake which was sitting in our tent perfectly under the flower halo. My sweet aunt gifted Andrew and I monogrammed Swarovski champagne glasses to toast with during the occasion,” Hannah adds.
Jackson Durham incorporated ginger jar arrangements along the tables under the flower halo—one of Hannah’s favorite touches. Throughout the venue, cozy rooms decorated with accent pillows and family photos allowed guests to mingle. The last song of the evening—Shout—brought the bride and groom on stage to soak in the celebratory occasion. Before the couple wisped off in a vintage car, Food Glorious Food passed out the bride’s mother’s chocolate chip cookies—A nostalgic sentiment to close a special evening.
