Each table received a unique treatment to add variety to the reception space. “We thought about each table as its own design, from the pattern on the linen to the water glass and the floral colors,” says planner Kelsey Booth Dell of KBD Designs.

Anna wanted her invitation suite to reflect a garden party theme featuring shades of blue, green, and lavender. Carly Anbouba from Carly Creative Co. helped bring the bride’s vision to life, incorporating those soft tones throughout the floral details.

These Student-Athlete College Sweethearts Paid Tribute to Their Love Story and Alma Mater

Anna Buford and Luke Nguyen first crossed paths at Amherst College, where they were both student-athletes. Their love story in the making was put on hold when Luke left to study abroad, but upon his return, the pair reconnected and officially started their relationship. After Luke proposed four years later at Flippen Park in Dallas, Anna knew immediately where she wanted to host their celebration. “I’d always seen weddings at Arlington Hall—I grew up down the street—so I really wanted to get married there,” Anna says. “I think it’s really classic and Southern.” On May 25, 2024, they celebrated their “I do’s” at a garden party awash in pastel greens, blues, and, in a nod to their alma mater’s color, purple.

Sweet Treat
