Red: the color of love. Bold brides are bringing bright blazing reds and deep burgundies into their winter celebrations.

Red Alert
Brenna Moss always knew she’d incorporate her favorite color into her wedding—and when she wed groom Blair Beck on February 3, 2024, even her shoes bore her signature shade. The couple’s planner and florist, Tami Winn of Tami Winn Events, says the trick to using red is finding the right colors to complement it. “Red is powerful, so it needs a thoughtful approach,” she says. “The key is balance— pairing it with the right supporting tones to soften or enhance its richness.”

Burning Love
Bride Tyler Spearman wanted depth and drama for her December 7, 2024, wedding to Hayden Williams—and planner Lisa Dean of Divine Wedding Details Special Events delivered. Richly hued florals by Branching Out Events provided a bold wink to the season, while burgundy bridesmaids’ dresses worked surprisingly well with the red bouquets. “I wanted the dresses to reflect the overall aesthetic—romantic, elegant, and wintry,” says Tyler. “The deep burgundy hue felt like the perfect match.”

Moody Hues
Dani Milner and Adam Schor knew they wanted their January 20, 2024, wedding to stand out from others they had seen. “Our vibe was modern, sultry, and moody,” Dani says. Their planner, Leslie Ochs of Alice and Apricot Weddings, suggested adding red to the mix. “We don’t get a lot of requests for red,” says Emily Ahlfinger of Petals Couture. “Most people are afraid of that bold of color.” But the result fulfilled every vibrant dream the bride had in mind. “They completely transformed the space,” Dani says.

Artful Arrangements
Caroline Dillard and Elliot Wilson didn’t want cookie-cutter flowers for their Texas Discovery Gardens I do’s, so they looked to the wizards at David Kimmel Design to create floral magic. “We were looking for something that felt vibrant and unexpected,” says Caroline. “I have always loved deep reds and roses, but I also wanted varying textures so that the florals felt ‘organic.’ “ The end result was not only pretty but personal, too.
