Haley and Jon met through friends on the idyllic beaches of East Hampton. At the time, they both lived in New York–John working, Haley studying. Haley’s path in medicine took the couple across many state lines; the couple eventually found themselves back in Haley’s home state, Texas, where she is currently in residency at UT Southwestern.
After seven years of dating and their first year in Dallas, Jon proposed over breakfast with Haley’s family on New Year’s Eve. Jon works in real estate, at LORD Green Real Estate Strategies.
Haley partnered with After Yes to realize her vision of a sophisticated outdoor garden party. “My goal was for it to be elegant but understated,” Haley notes. They stuck with a neutral palette of green and cream. The garden theme even extended to a “Monet’s Gardens at Giverny” guestbook.
The springtime wedding was filled with emotion. Before the walk down the aisle, the couple opted to have a first look together: a quiet and intimate moment that would, upon reflection, become the highlight of the wedding. Haley’s father teared up when he received an embroidered handkerchief, which Haley had personalized with a note of thanks. The couple remembered their grandparents by featuring their photographs prominently, which gave the day even more meaning.
Unlike most garden parties, they stayed up until the break of dawn partying with friends and family.
