A Guide to Finding the Best Wedding White for Your Skin Tone

Before heading to one of this city’s renowned bridal salons in search of your dress, we’ve put together a guide to help you decide which shade of white will best complement your coloring.

“To determine your skin tone, all you need to do is determine the color of your veins,” makeup maven Kaleigh Caver of the Styling Stewardess says. “Doing this in natural light is best. If your veins appear blue or purple, you have a cool skin tone (more of a pink undertone). If your veins look green or a greenish blue, you have a warm skin tone (more yellow or peach undertone).”

Below, Christina Plumlee of Stanley Korshak Bridal has helped us to pair skin tones and dress shades.

Fair: silk white, blush

Red undertones: silk white, light ivory, ivory, blush

Yellow undertones: light ivory, gold, or nude tones

Neutral but tan: silk white, light ivory, rich undertones

Dark: ivory, light ivory, and silk white
