Do You Have to Book Hotel Blocks for Your Guests?

Introducing the D Weddings ABCs of Etiquette: Sure, you can flip through Emily Post’s bible of good manners, but what do Dallas brides, planners, and guests expect when it comes to local wedding etiquette? Dallas wedding experts tell us how to graciously navigate every wedding-day situation.

When it comes to booking hotel blocks for guests, the decision rests on how many out-of-towners you plan on hosting, and whether or not you want them to stay in the same location. “A block of hotel rooms is not always necessary; however, if you want your guests to all stay in one location to facilitate bus or shuttle transportation, a block is a good thing,” explains Marsha Ballard French of StarDust Celebrations. If you decide that hotel blocks are the way to go, make sure your guests are in the know: communication is key. “Hotel blocks are communicated on the couple’s website, by the save the date card, or by inserting a details/lodging card in the invitation packet,” says French.
