Mi Amor: While Lee’s sole focus was making sure Emily got the wedding of her dreams, the bride was equally concerned with her groom loving their wedding as much as she did. “It was so cute how much they adore each other,” says Katy.

Modern Trousseau: A true fashionista at heart, Emily donned four dresses throughout her wedding weekend—each memorable in their own right: Nardos Imam custom gowns for the rehearsal dinner (far left) and reception (far right), a Monique Lhuillier lace gown for the ceremony (second from right), and a fun mini dress for the after party.

A Girl’s Best Friends: One of the couple’s top priorities was making sure they found a special role for their beloved dogs, Murphy and Reese, who served as ring bearer and flower girl.

Change of a Dress: Emily wanted a reception gown that was fitted and architectural with a modern twist. “She had a vision that the gowns would complement her look, while still standing out on their own,” says bridal designer Nardos Imam, who created both Emily’s rehearsal and reception dresses.

Love of a Lifetime: Emily and Lee chose the Commodore Perry, in part, because it’s a place they can continue to visit. Since their wedding day last fall, they’ve already returned for date nights.

Emily Herren & Lee Travis
October 2, 2021
On October 2, 2021, fashion influencer Emily Herren wed Lee Travis at the Commodore Perry Estate in Austin. The day was a design feat for the pros involved, as inclement weather forced a last-minute change of plans. With just a few days’ notice, Emily’s team—which included Todd Fiscus and Alex Stergiou of Todd Events and Katy Preisler of Keely Thorne Events—moved the ceremony indoors, filling the on-site chapel with blooms to bring the lushness of the property inside. The reception echoed the old-time glamour of the venue, with a clear tent lined in twinkling lights and timeless black-and-white tiled floors. But true to her fashion-forward roots, Emily’s trio of striking ensembles that evening stole the show. Says Alex, “She kept it classic, but she started trends.”
Emily’s mother, who owns a monogramming shop, embroidered cloth napkins for the event bearing a custom duogram created by K. Laine Design.
Floral and wedding designer Todd Fiscus’ goal was to create a design that complemented the historic design of the Commodore Perry mansion. “We wanted it to feel classic and elegant,” he says. Pedestals and floral arrangements appear to float over the venue’s pool to stunning effect.
