While Kathy Ireland is best known for her days on the catwalk, her post-modeling career has taken her to a new type of runway: the wedding aisle. Since 1993, Ireland has founded over ten resorts around the world, specifically geared toward destination weddings. And now those resorts have a Dallas tie.
Through her menswear label MI VI (pronounced “My Six”), which she founded with actor/entrepreneur Tommy Meharey, Ireland has collaborated with Dallas-based brand Don Morphy. The result is a new combined men’s fashion line of custom suits/tuxedos, which will be the exclusive menswear clothier at Kathy Ireland resorts.
So basically, if you get married at one of Kathy Ireland’s resorts, you’re groom is going to be wearing a suit from MI VI by Don Morphy.
“We pride ourselves on being the leader in all things menswear, so with this elevated partnership, we know that this is just the beginning,” says Daniel Mofor, founder of Don Morphy.
With a new showroom in the Design District, Don Morphy has called Dallas home since its inception in 2014, but this isn’t the first time the brand has gained international traction. Mofor, a native of Cameroon, was named the 2019 National “Rising Star” honoree in Menswear Fashion by Fashion Group International (FGI), and then was also awarded the 2019 “Rising Star” in Menswear Fashion by the Dallas chapter of FGI.
Don Morphy designs (all made in Italy after being designed here) are bold and chic, and when D Weddings went to check out the new showroom, we got to chat with Daniel Mofor himself. He told us he believes he is having success, especially in the wedding arena, because men are wanting to break out of the norm and complement the bride, rather than just serve as her backdrop.
While they allow walk-ins at the showroom, most clients schedule appointments. Book a time and stop in today for a look at the collections that have earned Don Morphy worldwide attention. Oh, and bring your groom to scout out a fresh wedding ‘fit while you’re there.
