May I Have This Dance: “It was easy to see they were so in love,” says photographer Stephanie Brazzle of Emma and Patrick. Prior to the reception, where they were set to perform their first dance to Toploader’s “Dancing in the Moonlight,” the couple snuck in a practice session in the Adolphus’ French Room to calm their nerves.

To the Letter: Emma and Patrick’s invitation suite featured a custom monogram that Emma designed. The detail was implemented throughout their wedding, from the embroidered linens to the cake.

Texas Treats: The couple provided personalized welcome boxes to their 75 guests, which included custom cookies by Cookie Whipped and honey from Patrick’s aunt and uncle’s beehives.

Mother to Daughter: Emma’s “something old” was a piece of lace from her mom’s veil that she incorporated into her bouquet.

I love Hue: Wanting their wedding day to be as special for her groom as it was for her, Emma chose blue—Patrick’s favorite shade—to anchor the color scheme.

Apple of Their Eye: Upon postponing their celebration, Emma and Patrick had to find a new cake bakery for their new date. Fancy Cakes by Lauren far exceeded the couple’s expectations with an Apple Pie Spice Cake with cream cheese filling and vanilla buttercream icing.
DIY Bride: The layered place settings featured napkins Emma embroidered herself with a monogram she designed. Emma also personalized linens as a thank you gift for her vendors.

August 29, 2020
When Emma Barry and Patrick Anderson were seated next to each other at the wedding of mutual friends, they had no idea that four years later, they’d be having a wedding of their own. Though COVID forced a postponement, they put the extra time to good use, taking ballroom dancing lessons to ensure a smooth first spin around the floor as man and wife. And on August 29, 2020, they did nail the dance—and promise forever—in a weekend-long celebration, packed with special surprises for their guests. At the end of the reception, the newlyweds took a joy ride through downtown Dallas in the back of a 1957 Ford Skyliner convertible. “It was a really special memory,” Emma says. “I loved getting to spend time with just Patrick, reflecting on the amazing day we had.”
