The Couple

After graduating from the University of Arizona with a degree in physiology, Elizabeth Cary moved to Dallas to attend SMU’s Cox School of Business. Little did she know, on her first day working at a local running store, she would meet a fellow employee that would end up being her husband. Eduardo graduated from Texas State University. After seeing Liz on her first day of work, he knew she was the “one.” Eddie and Liz quickly became friends and enjoyed running and spending time together. As time went by, Eddie continued to pursue Liz in hopes of a first date. Luckily, a year later on a dark and rainy night, Liz got a flat tire and called Eddie, who was more than willing to help. Not long after that, Liz and Eddie finally went on their first date. Four and a half years later, Liz works as a brand manager and Eduardo works in anesthesia, and they are happily engaged.

The Proposal

For Christmas one year, Eddie and Liz spent over two weeks traveling through Spain. Their second to last day before returning home, Eddie had picked out a Seville five-star hotel with a rooftop overlooking a famous cathedral. After a night of watching a flamenco show and eating tapas, they went to the roof to enjoy the view and have some delicious Spanish wine. As part of Eddie’s plan and unknown to Liz, the staff had cleared out a higher level of the rooftop area offering a secluded, exclusive view of the cathedral! As Liz walked up with Eddie, there was a table with rose petals, candles, and a bottle of champagne chilling. It was at that moment when Eddie got down on one knee to ask Liz to marry him. She said yes, and the happy pair celebrated later that night with local friends and loved ones as soon as they arrived home.

The Wedding

The couple is getting married at Royal Lane Baptist Church with a reception to follow at Northwood Country Club on Saturday, March 24, 2018.
