The Couple
Jessica, a city girl from Boston, Massachusetts, and Blake, a country boy born and raised in Texas, spent three long years strictly as friends. They met in 2013 while they were both working at Fidelity Investments.
The six-foot-four football-star Blake and the nearly five-foot tall Jessica hit it off so well that Blake knew one day they would be more than friends; even Jessica’s mother knew Blake and Jess would marry one day. In 2016, the pair of friends went out for drinks at The Rustic in Dallas. To no one’s surprise, the waitress assumed Blake and Jess were dating and asked how long they had been together. Blake, impatient at this point, told the waitress that he had been trying to date Jess for the past three years, despite Jess’ numerous excuses to remain as friends. As Jess laughed at this, at the time, surprising comment, Blake leaned over the table and kissed Jessica. Blake’s three-year-old wish came true as the two’s relationship broke the friend-zone.
Jessica graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a degree in Communications. Jessica is continuing to work with Fidelity Investments as a Managing Director. Blake attended the University of Arizona with a full-ride scholarship to play Division 1 football. Blake currently works as a Wholesaler at American Beacon.
The Proposal
Jess had a feeling Blake would propose sometime soon, but did not expect the proposal to occur during their vacation in Mexico. Blake and Jess went to a rooftop bar in Puerto Vallarta to watch the sun set on the ocean’s horizon. Right as the sky turned pink, Blake got down on one knee and asked Jess to marry him, accompanied with a two carat Marquis diamond ring. After three long years of friendship and one year of dating, Jess, of course, said yes.

The wedding will be held at The Milestone Mansion in Aubrey, Texas on Saturday, September 29, 2018.
