It only took two Greek life date parties at the University of Texas at Austin for Isabel Miller and Eric Pryzant to realize that they were meant to be. Though they moved to different cities upon graduation, they maintained their romance long distance, with travel as a key component. Six years later while in New York City, Eric proposed on a helicopter landing pad overlooking the city. ”We knew we wanted a destination wedding due to our love of traveling,” Isabel says. For their nuptials on July 21, 2018, the pair chose a whimsical mountaintop in Beaver Creek, Colorado.
Isabel and Eric’s guests enjoyed a five-course meal at Beano’s, a sit-down restaurant atop Beaver Creek. “I always wanted to break bread with close friends and family after getting married,” Isabel recalls.
Eric and Isabel enlisted La Pompe Jazz, a band based out of Denver, to play during the ceremony and cocktail hour. “It was so fun sharing a swing dance with my new husband right after our wedding ceremony,” Isabel says.
Isabel’s mother designed the watercolor on the save the dates to reflect the mountainous scenery at Beano’s Cabin. “It was very special to integrate her work into the wedding,” Isabel says.
“Once we decided on the location, I wanted to have a minimalist wedding that truly allowed the beautiful scenery to be reflected throughout the wedding,” Isabel says.
While Isabel and Eric were dating long distance, the two frequently visited Vail and Beaver Creek. “We knew it was the perfect place for us to get married,” Isabel says.
Isabel and her sister would escape the ski slopes to Beano’s for chilled Moscow mules. To highlight this fond memory, the individual summer vegetable bisque soups were served in copper bowls, mimicking the duo’s staple drink.
Eric wears boots everywhere, from football games to black-tie events. Isabel had Luskey’s in Fort Worth design a custom pair of boots as a gift.
The monogram used throughout the wedding decor features a watercolor design by Isabel’s godsister.
