Get That Wedding-Day Glow, with a Little Help from the Newly Reimagined The Spa at The Ritz-Carlton Dallas

Every bride wants to look and feel her best on her big day. A big part of getting that wedding-day glow comes from taking care of your skin, both at home and with the right professional treatment regimen. And perhaps there’s no better place to pamper your skin than at the newly renovated The Spa at The Ritz-Carlton Dallas.

Tucked away on the second floor of Dallas’ only five-star hotel, the 12,000-square-foot spa recently underwent a transformation led by design firm ForrestPerkins and unveiled its new look in January 2022. The refreshed feel starts in the nature-nodding entry, as guests enter through glass doors bearing branch-inspired bronze handles and are greeted by a metal trellis draped in hand-forged vines sculpted by local artist Larry Whiteley. The attentive staff will surely have you checked in in no time, but should you have to wait a moment, products from top lines including Natura Bissé, ESPA, and Lord Jones are available to shop.

Once inside the main spa, a tranquil feeling washes over you, aided by the facility’s new muted color palette and nature-inspired decor. Be sure to arrive early to take advantage of the steam room, sauna, and whirlpool, reserved exclusively for spa guests. Enjoy a pre-treatment snack and sip of lemon water in the relaxation lounge, which bears lilac velvet armchairs, bronze accents, and lush wall coverings. Throughout the reimagined space, rugs and sconces bear the likeness of ginkgo leaves.

On a recent visit, I tried out the “Diamond Facial,” one of two new treatments added to the menu in conjunction with the reopening, which is designed to improve skin luminosity and elasticity through hydration and collagen production. “It’s great for giving that dewy, glowy look, and makes your skin look incredible in pictures,” noted my provider, Mallory, who expertly walked me through each step of the 50-minute treatment.

Following a deep pore cleanse, Mallory exfoliated my skin using a gentle glycolic peel. (Don’t think Samantha from Sex and the City; “You won’t be peeling sheets of skin!” she assured me.) Next, she applied an oxygenating powder that stimulates circulation and helps fight bacteria to rid your face and décolletage of breakouts. Finally, she massaged in a lightening system, which included Natura Bissé vitamin C and ascorbic acid-based products. Before I was finished, she applied a light tinted moisturizer and setting spray. My skin was just as she promised: dewy, radiant, and ready for its close-up.

While you can never have too many regular treatments, Mallory says brides can get great results from three to four monthly treatments leading up to your wedding day, with one early the week of your wedding to get the maximum benefit in your photos. Though the treatment is gentle and shouldn’t cause irritation, she advises brides to schedule treatments no less than three days prior to the big day.
