Hailey Briggs and Daniel Scott Take Their Happily Ever After to Telluride

On a clear blue Colorado day, Dallas native Hailey Briggs and Daniel Scott wed in a simple ceremony that celebrated their love and, as Hailey puts it, “glorified the Lord.” A mountainside in Telluride, which required little embellishment, served as the backdrop as they exchanged vows on June 10, 2018.

“It was a small wedding, which was so special to me because everywhere I looked was someone that Daniel or I had a deep relationship with,” Hailey says. “It felt really intimate, and I think that is what made it so special.”

As the bridesmaids donned sky-blue gowns and grasped all-white bouquets, Hailey slipped into an effortless Lara Elizabeth dress and held a matching bouquet with touches of baby pink.

It was no surprise the duo said “I do” in Telluride—Hailey grew up visiting the town, and on a family trip there, Daniel popped the question on a hike. As college sweethearts, the proposal came a little more than two years after they met at Auburn University’s Phi Gamma Delta house.

The intimacy of the ceremony carried over to the reception where a wooden barn housed the celebration—except for the dancing, which took place underneath the stars. Hailey strove to create an affair that was both elegant and rustic, and included decor she had painted herself to make it even more personal.

“My favorite part was one of the last songs: Everyone just made a circle around us singing and swaying back and forth as we danced in the middle,” Hailey says. “None of it was planned and it was just such a special moment [that] I will cherish forever.”

While the pair lived temporarily in Haiti after saying “I do,” they have moved back to the States and now live in Dallas.
