Here’s to Fur-Ever: Michael and Harrison knew they wanted to incorporate their pups into the ceremony. “Had we not had these dogs, we probably would have never met,” Michael says.

Man’s Best Friend: “One of our dogs watched the entire ceremony through the window. She’s a little protective of Michael, who is her dad. And so people all think it’s really cute, but I almost feel like she’s territorial. She had to watch the whole thing to make sure that I knew that,” Harrison laughs.

Where the Heart Is: The couple expertly utilized their home for the ceremony, dinner, and reception, holding different parts of their wedding in their front yard, backyard, driveway, and interior.

An Eclectic Assortment: A self-planned wedding gave Michael and Harrison freedom to customize the event to their own unique style. For their outdoor ceremony, a collection of vintage chairs from Junk and Disorderly “felt more authentic and down-home and comfortable to us,” Harrison says.

Food and Friends: A single, 130-foot-long table spanning the driveway was intended to bring everyone together. It may have worked a little too well: “We couldn’t get people out of the tent after the meal,” Harrison laughs.

Harrison Edell and Michael Mahon
November 23, 2019
It seems Michael Mahon and Harrison Edell were destined to meet—or maybe they were just doggone lucky. Either way, after noticing each other from a distance at the White Rock Lake Dog Park, it wasn’t until they found their cars parked side-by-side in the parking lot that Harrison drummed up the courage to say hello. “It wasn’t smooth,” Harrison jokes, but it was enough to get Michael’s attention. Two years after their awkward but memorable introduction, atop Perito Moreno glacier in Patagonia, Argentina, Harrison asked Michael to marry him. Back home in the States, the pair hosted an intimate at-home wedding on November 23, 2019, surrounded by their family and friends. “It was very sweet,” remembers Michael, “and very intimate and special.”
