Brush Up on Your Bridesmaid Basics

Make Your Best Girls Shine

Chances are, all of your bridesmaids have been with you through thick and thin, but those you’ve designated as maids or matrons of honor deserve special attention on your big day. We love the black dress trend, but we’re especially enamored with the way bride Katie Ballard highlighted her two maids of honor at her December 30, 2017, wedding to Ben Kardell. “I wanted my sisters to have their own special moment, so we worked with Nardos [Design] to create something that made them stand out,” Katie says of the gowns, which featured floral embroidery not present on those of the rest of the bridal party. “The dresses are almost exactly the same except for a few small details to reflect their personalities.”

You’re busy—but so are your friends! That’s why Bella Bridesmaids offers a virtual showroom where your bridesmaids can place their orders without having to step foot in the store. Once you select your bridesmaid dresses, your friends are invited to a private online showroom where they can enter their measurements, sizing, and payment information. (They can still opt for in person, if desired.) When the dress is ready, they can pick up or have it shipped—a great option for out-of-towners. Haven’t decided on a dress? Add your favorites to the showroom, and your girls can vote or comment on their preferred styles.

Got too many friends to count?

You can still make girls outside your bridal party feel special.

  1. Ask a friend to serve as a reader during the ceremony.
  2. Have another close friend welcome guests and distribute programs.
  3. Pick a bestie to man the guest book table and encourage people to sign.
  4. Got a songbird friend? Ask him or her to sing (or play an instrument) at your wedding.
  5. Delegate the task of handing out favors so guests are ready for your send-off.
