Married: Katelyn Elizabeth Hoskins & Tyler Barret Morrison

The Couple

Katelyn Hoskins and Tyler Morrison were married on April 7, 2018, at The Springs at Rockwall Manor. The bride, 24, is from Woodlands, Texas, while the groom, 25, grew up in Plano. They met their sophomore year of college at Texas A&M. Katelyn lived in the Delta Gamma house with one of Tyler’s friends who introduced them the week before classes began. From the moment they met, Katelyn and Tyler knew they had something special. During their time at A&M, Tyler studied industrial and systems engineering and now works at AT&T in Dallas. Katelyn majored in international studies and is now a Spanish teacher in Plano ISD.

The Proposal

Katelyn and Tyler dated for nearly five years before Tyler proposed at their alma mater. Katelyn was just visiting her sister at Texas A&M, or so she thought. On their way to dinner, Katelyn’s sister brought her to the George Bush Presidential Library to await Tyler’s surprise. When Tyler suddenly appeared in the garden behind the Bush Library, he took Katelyn’s hand and led her to a gazebo. Then he got down on one knee and asked Katelyn to marry him. She enthusiastically agreed. After the proposal, Katelyn and Tyler’s families joined them to celebrate. They all dined at Christopher’s, Katelyn’s favorite restaurant in town.

The Wedding

Since the theme for their spring wedding was “refined rustic,” the couple incorporated natural elements that would complement rather than compete with the natural beauty of the venue.  They accomplished this with a blue and clear color palette mixed with a large mass of greenery. Despite their careful planning for an outdoor wedding, cold temperatures forced them to move the wedding indoors. Everyone stayed warm by moving to the jubilant variety of dance songs provided by the Royal Dukes Band.
