When Brentley LaFoy was ready to propose to his girlfriend of two-and-a-half years, Katy Grace Arrington, he didn’t want to take any chances. “Sometimes proposals can be cheesy,” he says. “I wanted it to be authentic and beautiful.” So once he secured permission from his bride-to-be’s father, he enlisted the help of planner Caroline Fair and photogra-pher Ryan Ray—both of whom worked on Katy Grace’s sister’s wedding years prior—to make it a day his beloved “KK” wouldn’t soon forget. Caroline made arrangements for a picture-perfect picnic at Lakeside Park, and on June 5, 2020, Brentley asked, Katy Grace accepted, and the pair shared a bottle of celebratory champagne. Caroline acknowledges that while many grooms don’t think to involve a planner in their proposal, she’s more than happy to plan pre- and post-wedding events for clients. Set to tie the knot at Arlington Hall exactly one year later, Katy Grace still finds herself glow-ing from the magical day she emphatically said, “Yes!” “It was so much better than I could have imagined,” she says.
