Lauren loved the look of the strapless Watters gown that she purchased to wear at her reception. Following the conclusion of the ceremony, she opened the garment bag to find not only the dress but also separate puff sleeves that were meant to be worn with it. “My photographer actually convinced me to try them on,” she says. “Now I can’t imagine having worn the dress any other way!”

Lauren looked to her team of vendors to create a floral design that was in keeping with the wedding’s grandmillenial aesthetic. “We used all the colors usually associated with that style, but in a very toned-down, classy way,” says planner Julian Leaver.

One of Lauren’s favorite moments of the day was the arrival of her bridal party. “The amount of energy and pure excitement they brought only made me feel the most confident in my love for Connor and marriage-to-be,” she says.

Lauren’s childhood best friend—Sydney Watters Dunbar, the brand director of Watters—was essential in helping Lauren find her looks. “I fell in love with two very different dresses,” says the bride. Ultimately, she says, “I had to choose both!”

The first time Lauren Chilton and Connor Maas met in 2016, things didn’t quite go as planned. “I actually was so nervous, I ended up ignoring him all night,” Lauren laughs. But it turned out Connor wasn’t quite as put off as she thought, as the very next night, the duo went out for Tex-Mex on their first official date. “He is the most genuine, loyal, thoughtful person,” says the bride. “We truly were inseparable after that night!” After six years of tacos-and-margs dinner dates, Connor proposed at Lauren’s family ranch. Soon after, the bride and groom began planning their big day in earnest. They started by booking planners Julian Leaver and Sarah Kane of Julian Leaver Events, followed by securing their dream venue, the Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek, where on April 8, 2023, they said “I do.”
