Engaged: Maria Nicole Nuccetelli & David Thomas Guinn

The Couple

Maria and David’s storybook meet-cute couldn’t be more Texan: they met at a country concert at Fair Park as teenagers. At the time, Maria was a senior in high school and David was a freshman in college. They exchanged numbers, but didn’t speak again until four years later. In a moment of pure serendipity, they ran into each other out in Uptown, the neighborhood they live in now. Maria, who is from Southlake, graduated from TCU with a degree in education. She is a fifth grade teacher at Mohawk Elementary in Richardson. David, a Graham, Texas native, graduated from Abilene Christian University with his BBA in business management. He works in commercial real estate in Dallas with Mercer Company.

The Proposal

Ever since their first date at Joe T. Garcias, the couple has been inseparable. They dated for a year and a half when David popped the question in New York. What Maria thought was a football trip with David’s brother and his brother’s wife—the Cowboys were playing the Giants—was, in fact, a fairytale proposal in the making. David told Maria to pack a nice dress for a fancy night out on that Saturday: they were going to start the evening with cocktails on the rooftop of the Hotel Empire before dinner. As Maria walked up to the bar she saw David out in the snow on the rooftop terrace. “He not only surprised me with the most amazing ring, but also my family and best friends!” remembers Maria.

The Wedding

Maria and David with be married on March 9, 2019 at the Joule Hotel. The ceremony will be hosted on the terrace with a reception to follow at the Fort Night ballroom.
