Married: Bonnie Ohlig and Aubrey Boswell

The Couple

Bonnie Ohlig and Aubrey Boswell’s love story began during a Dallas Young Republicans event at Social House. “It was as close to love at first sight as possible,” Bonnie says. Five months later during their first date at Eno’s Pizza Tavern and Emporium Pies, Bonnie knew there was something about Aubrey she couldn’t let go of. The following dates involved a lot of Mavericks games, concerts, and trying out new things like Painting with a Twist or Sur la Table classes.

The Proposal

The couple dated for a year and a half before Aubrey proposed at the American Airlines Center, where Bonnie has spent the past five years performing as a Dallas Mavericks dancer. Aubrey recruited one of the Mavs Maniaacs and Bonnie’s dance team director to help the proposal unfold. As Bonnie walked down the stairs of the AAC, she followed a trail of rose petals to the center of the court where her soon-to-be fiancé stood holding a bouquet of roses. With Bonnie’s fellow Mavs dancers watching behind her, Aubrey pulled out a blue Tiffany’s box and popped the question.

The Wedding

In the heart of the Bishop Arts District, the couple wed at Cliff House, a venue with a quaint “little white chapel” feel originally built in the 1930s. With colors of soft gray and romantic blush, the couple kept the decor simple for their reception as to not overpower the Community Beer Company’s unique appeal. The couple and their guests grabbed glow sticks to go in tune with their selection of the ’80s and ’90s music, and no one left the dance floor all night long.
