The Couple
A Houston native and an Austin native meet in Dallas, and the rest is history. Grant and Mindy’s business degrees brought them both to Goldman Sachs, where Grant was assigned to show Mindy the ropes. Grant, a graduate of Texas A&M University, and Mindy, a graduate of Baylor University, quickly became inseparable, but remained friends. This made Grant’s upcoming move to Washington D.C. hard on their friendship, and his confession of love before departing made for a challenging start to their relationship. The couple was 1,300 miles apart, but successfully dated long distance for a year before he moved back to Texas. They now both live in Uptown in Dallas and continue to work at Goldman Sachs. Together, the couple likes to ride bikes and try new restaurants, but their favorite thing to do is travel.
The Proposal
When you’re passionate about traveling, a trip to Italy is the Christmas gift of a lifetime. Grant knew Mindy had always wanted to go, and he planned out every detail of their trip — including the surprise proposal. The couple spent three days in Rome and three days in Positano. On their last day in Positano, Grant treated Mindy to a spa day before dinner and drinks at their favorite restaurant on the Amalfi Coast. While walking along the beach, Grant asked Mindy to choose a random couple to take their photo. The random couple turned out to be the photographers Grant had hired to capture their engagement. Grant proceeded to get down on one knee and propose with beautiful Positano in the background. And just when Mindy thought the moment could not be more special, she noticed the engagement ring resembled her own mother’s wedding ring that she had always told Grant she loved. Mindy described it as “the best moment of her life!”
The Wedding
Grant and Mindy will be married on March 30, 2019, at Arlington Hall. The big day is being planned by Emily Clarke Events and will be captured by John Cain Photography.
