Wedding Planner Molly Rasmussen Designs a Dazzling Day For Her Own Nuptials to Steven Guckenheimer

Seven years ago, Molly Rasmussen was helping host an event in the Design District. To her surprise, a friend brought Steven Guckenheimer. They hit it off and made plans to go out later that week. Six years later, the couple headed to Las Vegas to celebrate Molly’s 30th birthday. She was in for another surprise— Steven getting down on one knee. Now a wedding planner herself, Molly had a specific vision for her July 13, 2019 affair. “I wanted the day to be a reflection of our favorite memories together,” she says. “I love to think outside the box but keep a classic touch. That’s exactly how our day was designed.”

Puppy Love

Lucy, the couple’s 9-pound miniature long-haired dachshund, made a guest appearance. “She was with us all day, getting ready in the penthouse, for photos at the church, and even made an appearance at the reception,” Molly says.

Joule Tones

With only 85 guests, Molly and Steven wanted long tables to make it feel like an intimate dinner party. “My favorite flower is the coral charm peony, and I wanted [the tables] to be lush and beautiful with simple place settings and a clean backdrop for the flowers to shine,” she says.

’Maids in a Row

Molly chose a trumpet-style sillhouette, and her bridesmaids donned classic black dresses in varying necklines.

Game On

The most unique aspect of the wedding was the various games, including vintage arcade games, a pingpong table, and a bowling lane. The idea was inspired by their first date, which took place at Barcadia. The bowling lane, though, was in memory of Molly’s father. “My dad owned a bowl- ing business, andI grew up playing there and counting coins with him.”

Shine Bright

Molly’s engagement ring, a mine-cut diamond that belonged to Steven’s aunt, is a vintage family heirloom from the 1900s.
