Outside-the-Box Date Ideas For Valentine’s Day

Dinner for two on Valentine’s day is classic but also somewhat outdated and can even be meh. Lucky for you, Dallas has a range of unique options to celebrate the love-struck holiday with your S.O. Ditch the fancy restaurant and opt for an experience rather than a just a meal.

Delta Charlie’s Dinner and Flight

Dinner and Flight” is not what you probably think it is. Instead of a flight of beer, wine, or other alcohol, this flight is literally one over the Dallas skyline. This unique date experience begins with a three-course meal, followed by a private flight over the breath-taking Dallas skyline, which if timed just right, you’ll be able to catch the sunset. Flights are only available Wednesday through Sunday.

Keith and Margo’s 30th Annual St. Valentine’s Massacre

An absolute killer Valentine’s date night would be attending the St. Valentine’s Massacre. Hosted at the Omni Hotel Dallas, ticket purchase gives you and your partner entrance into a three-course dinner with a twist: actors in the audience, along with the guests, are all suspects in a murder where the crime scene is the dinner party. Guests are encouraged to dress up in costume as famous cops or criminals, otherwise attire is suit and tie. For an added price, couples can book a room at the Omni for the night.

Regeneration Arcade Bar

Regeneration Arcade blends childhood nostalgia with the best part of adulthood: a full bar. Featuring a variety of wines, Texas-brewed beers, and specialty drinks, they have all of your favorite 80s and 90s classic arcade games, pool tables, and retro game consoles to fulfill all your gaming—and drinking—needs.

Dunder Whiplin Inc. Beverage Company

Fans of “The Office” will see that in true Michael Scott fashion, The Whippersnapper’s latest transformation only sets the bar low for limbo. Your Office-obsessed S.O. will love this interactive experience with themed cocktails and nightly entertainment, and all the “that’s what she said” jokes in the world. The last night of themed pop-up bar is February 15.

UT Arlington Planetarium

An evening under the stars is every hopeless romantic’s dream on Valentine’s Day, and while the Dallas skyline is beautiful, stargazing is not one of the easiest things to do in the heart of Dallas. The University of Texas at Arlington Planetarium will host a Valentine’s Day show just for that reason.

Irving Gondola Adventures

Check out Irving Gondola Adventures for their Valentine’s Day special, which gets you a bottle of sparkling cider or mineral water, a box of gourmet chocolates, and a cruise down Lake Carolyn. Being serenaded by your gondolier will create a picturesque evening for you and your partner—and that’s amore.

Hyena’s Comedy Nightclub

Laugh the night away like a hyena at Hyena’s, a local comedy club with locations in Dallas, Fort Worth, and Plano. Their Valentine’s Day Special includes preferred seating during the show, a champagne toast, chocolate covered strawberries, and a long stem rose. Each location has a different comic scheduled for their Valentine’s day special, and if you’re interested in celebrating a day early, the Fort Worth and Dallas locations are offering a free show on February 13 with a table reservation.

Leave the stress of trying to book a babysitter behind this Valentine’s Day and check out CAMP Dallas.
