Ben Poch’s persistent pursuit and Southern manners charmed the Brazilian native, and she knew he was the one after only a few months of living in Texas. After a year of dating, Ben surprised Renata with a trip to her favorite artist’s gallery, located in Miami, where she was asked to unveil the painter’s newest work—a custom portrait of the couple, secretly arranged by Ben. Her surprise at the gallery continued when she saw Ben kneel and reveal an engagement ring. Surrounded by family and friends, the two said “I do” in the Lone Star State, and they celebrated with an outdoor reception at the Nasher Sculpture Center.
