P.S. I Love You: Robyn wanted a day that was “vibrant and joyful” but still full of tradition. Elizabeth designed invitations with artful calligraphy and rich colors that “reflected that bubbly aspect of Robyn.”

Crystal Clear: Not only did the acrylic chuppah provide visibility for guests, its streamlined aesthetic paired with organic florals to stunning effect. “It felt like the flowers were floating,” remembers Elizabeth.

In Bloom: Planner and florist Elizabeth McKellar of The Nouveau Romantics leaned into seasonal flowers and created a “quintessential springtime, light and airy” pastel bouquet for her bride.

Starry Night: The couple wed in front of Robyn’s father’s and stepmother’s home, and a drive-by parade from friends followed. A tented reception for 28 guests took place in the back yard.

Sage Advice: “Elizabeth encouraged us to make a list of the things that were really important to us, and if we started feeling overwhelmed, to come back to that list,” says Robyn. In the reception tent, Elizabeth layered a patterned table linen with blush chargers and centerpieces made of foxgloves, garden roses, sweet peas, and hellebores.

Understated Elegance: Robyn remembers coming back to her Lela Rose gown time and again but worrying she’d regret not choosing something more ornate. “ ‘You’re not supposed to feel like you’re playing dress-up,’ ” Robyn recalls her sales associate wisely advising her. “ ‘You’re supposed to feel like the best version of yourself.’ ” She added a pearl-dotted cathedral-length veil for wow factor.

The Right Notes: Travis, a talented musician, surprised his bride with an acoustic rendition of ‘NSync’s “This I Promise You.” Says Robyn, “It was beautiful. He really caught me off-guard.”

Robyn Sills & Travis Wedgeworth
April 4, 2021
If Robyn Sills had dreamt up her wedding day, it probably wouldn’t have looked like her April 4, 2021 “I do’s” to groom Travis Wedgeworth. And that was, ultimately, a wonderful thing. The restrictions of the pandemic forced the ultra-extroverted bride to think small, which suited her more reserved groom.
A short engagement prevented Robyn from overthinking each of the many decisions that come with wedding planning. And from the elaborate menu to the surprise serenade Travis performed at the reception, things they couldn’t or wouldn’t have done at a larger celebration were suddenly possible. “I didn’t expect it to be this way at all,” Robyn says. “But I can say with confidence that it brought out the best in both of us.”
