Sandy Lopez-Zeledon & Kate Wagoner’s “Magical” Mansion “I Do’s”

The very night she received a message from Sandy Lopez-Zeledon on OKCupid, Kate Wagoner remembers, “I told my best friend that was the woman I was going to marry.” She was right, though it took nearly a decade of mostly long-distance dating due to hopscotching school and work commitments before they’d say “I do.” Of their ultra-intimate celebration at the Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek, the couple, who now live in Seattle, say they wouldn’t change a thing: “It was one of the first times in my life where I’ve been so comfortable just to be me and be surrounded by people that I love,” remembers Sandy. “It was such a special day that I will cherish forever.” Kate & Sandy's Bride Prep

Pajama-rama

The brides got ready in white monogrammed pajamas—then donned them again during the dance hour. When considering the advantages of such an intimate wedding, Kate recalls, “My mom was like, ‘You could’ve never done that if you’d had a wedding with 100 people,’ ” before adding with a laugh, “I might’ve done that anyway.”

Kate’s father toasted the couple with a bottle of wine she brought back as a gift from a high school trip to Europe, which he’d saved as a surprise for the right occasion. Over dinner, remembers Sandy with a smile, “The string quartet was playing contemporary songs, and I remember at one point our moms were singing ‘Despacito’ together.” Adds Kate, “There was a lot of joy.”
