A-Tisket, A-Tasket: Stephanie had lots of original ideas for her own big day, including a moss basket that her daughter, their flower girl, carried down the aisle. “Being in the events industry herself, she asked us to keep our choices vibrant and unique to deviate from what is typically seen,” says florist Kelsey Williams.

White Wedding: Not wanting to wear white but still wanting to feel like a bride, Stephanie made a clever creative decision: She asked all the guests to wear white instead. “With the white marble in the Meyerson, it really made my dress and the flowers pop,” says Stephanie. “Plus, Pete’s last name is White, so we got to call it a ‘White Wedding.’ ”

Hue’s the Boss: The neutral interiors of the Meyerson Symphony Center were a perfect backdrop for Stephanie’s vivid aesthetic, which included amber ghost chairs.

Clear Vision: Stephanie’s wedding-industry expertise helped her make her big day extra special. “Stephanie’s vision was so unique. It allowed us the challenge of curating a design composed of florals, decor, and rentals that we don’t work with as often,” explains Kelsey Williams of Branching Out Events.

Family First: “We wanted to have a really intimate, family-only dinner with just my and my husband’s siblings and parents,” explains Stephanie. “So we started our day with the dinner, and then we had our ceremony and dance party with all of our friends.”

Stephanie Wadsworth & Pete White
July 31, 2023
Stephanie Wadsworth and Pete White began long-distance dating after meeting online in 2019. But Covid-related travel restrictions put in place shortly thereafter would prevent the Dallas-based Stephanie and her Canadian beau from seeing each other for 20 long months. “He told me, ‘If the borders ever open up, I’ll come down [to Dallas], and I won’t ever leave,’ ” says Stephanie. Reunited at long last in late 2021, Pete proposed. Having worked as a wedding photographer for five years, Stephanie hired a team of colleagues to make her very own wedding-day dreams come true. In an intimate, family-oriented ceremony, the two wed on a Monday in July, as quickly as they could after Pete’s American visa was approved. —Ellen Daly
Stephanie chose her hand-painted Leanne Marshall gown because it reminded her of one of her favorite dates with Pete, watching the sunset. “Now, whenever he sees a sunset, he’ll send me a picture and say, ‘Look! The sky looks like your wedding dress!’ ” she laughs.
Inspired by the hues in her nontraditional wedding dress, Stephanie chose a whimsical, multicolored bouquet by Branching Out Events to create the ethereal vibe she was going for. “In such a structured space like the Meyerson, I just wanted the florals to feel really organic,” she says.
