“There were so many cute and darling details at this wedding,” says Leaver. “Instead of a groom’s cake, the couple offered a whiskey bar cart with monogrammed ice cubes.”

Rather than depart with a grand exit, the couple made separate dramatic entrances in a 1957 Rolls Royce. The bride wore a vintage Dior robe with custom feather accents for her arrival. “I loved the idea of a grand dame in her marabou robe coming down the staircase,” she says.

At the supper club–style reception, guests dined on a four-course, French-inspired meal, surrounded by twinkling candlelight. “We were able to sit everyone at one long table,” says planner Julian Leaver. “It was spectacular.”

The newly married couple rang in the new year on the dance floor with their nearest and dearest. “Midnight was so fun,” Cassie says. “We had mini Moet & Chandon bottles with sippers for the champagne toast. We also passed out horns, beads, hats, and necklaces.” Cassie slipped into a second look for the midnight moment. “It reminded me of the way the Eiffel Tower sparkles at midnight,” Cassie says of the Tarik Ediz sequin dress.

“Our menu book design was inspired by some of our most memorable meals we’ve had together during our travels,” says Cassie. “Many of those keepsake menus were booklets, as were vintage menus that I’ve collected over the years.” Guests’ names were embroidered on the black velvet ribbons.

Cassie’s engagement ring is a bezel-set, emerald-cut diamond with a recessed halo and tapered baguettes. “I was inspired by estate pieces I loved,” she says. In this photo, it sits atop the couple’s wedding invitation suite, which features a custom-illustrated wallpaper design that was incorporated into details throughout the event.

After trying on many gowns and having no luck, Cassie finally found “the one” at Bergdorf Goodman in New York City. “I’m always in black, so when I walked into Bergdorf’s, I found this Marchesa dress with a black bodice and an architectural grand bow, and it felt elegant and elevated and perfect for New Year’s Eve,” she says. She added pearl details to the train, which was a sweet wink to a phrase the couple often say to one another: “The world is your oyster, and you are my pearl.”

The Jordan Kahn Music Company Gospel Choir sang a rendition of “What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve” as guests walked into the ceremony. “It was such a fun surprise for our guests,” Cassie says. After the nuptials, the choir and a brass horn section led a second-line parade upstairs to cocktail hour.

Early in their courtship, Cassie LaMere and Andrew Knieberg spent a romantic New Year’s Eve holiday in Paris. After a day of roaming the Musée d’Orsay, they snapped a photo in front of the iconic clock (which would later become the inspiration for their save-the-date). As they walked out of the museum, they heard a musician playing “La Vie en Rose.” “It was the most magical Paris day,” says Cassie. That trip inspired the couple’s New Year’s Eve wedding four years later. Cassie, an events planner based in Austin, envisioned an intimate black-tie dinner party. After a four-course French-inspired meal, the couple danced the night away until the clock struck midnight. Says Cassie, “Being able to ring in the New Year with everyone you love is so rare.”
