If the Shoe Fits: On Valentine’s Day of 2020, Matthew treated Marco to a surprise shopping spree at Neiman Marcus, during which Marco selected these dazzlers by Christian Louboutin, a brand of shoes he had dreamed about owning for years.

True Love: Marco says he will always remember his favorite line from Matthew’s vows: “In our twilight years, if someone asks me, ‘What was it all for?’ I will say, ‘It was for you…it was for you, mi amor.’ ”

Special Space: The couple not only wanted to marry their lives and families, but also their cultures. The choice of La Puertita at Joe T. Garcia’s paid homage to Marco’s Mexican roots.

Have Your Cake: Matthew, an avid baker, researched cake designs for months, ultimately landing on an eclectic style dotted with natural florals and fruits. Dallas Affaires Cake Co. brought the look to life, with each tier made in a different flavor—including Mexican chocolate with Kahlua filling and champagne with fresh-sliced strawberries—to appeal to guests’ varied tastes.

Marco Vivian & Matthew Warren
March 20, 2021
Grooms Matthew Warren and Marco Vivian have been “inseparable ever since” the fates of online dating brought them together on March 20, 2018. They planned to tie the knot exactly two years later but were forced to delay their celebration in the face of COVID. “It was a really tough time for us because we had put so much passion, time, and love into that moment,” says Matthew. In order to keep their sentimental March 20 wedding date, the couple held a Mexican-influenced reception on Saturday and exchanged vows the previous afternoon. Splitting the celebrations allowed for guests and newlyweds alike to slow down and enjoy each moment—like Matthew singing John Legend’s “All of Me” to Marco as he ascended the aisle. Remembers Marco: “It was beautiful and magical.”
