Maids For Me: Natalie and her bridesmaids shared the joy of the day just moments before they graced the aisle. “The wedding brought people closer together,” Natalie says. “The planning was hard every day, but it worked out exactly how it was supposed to be.”

Garden Variety: Says Natalie of her floral inspiration: “I wanted a white, neutral look with lots of green.” Raquel Lovern Harris of R Love Floral honed in on the look with a mood board, incoporating plenty of foliage in the arrangments and orchids in the bridal bouquet.

Oh Happy Day: “We had a backup date on hold with all the vendors and chose a date to mail invitations and make the call,” says planner Elizabeth Gonzalez of After Yes. “We decided we’d press on as planned and hope for the best.” Fortuntaely, Natalie and Tanner were able to celebrate on their original date with 130 guests.

No Matter How You Slice It: The couple used Natalie’s parents’ wedding cutter to slice their four-tiered confection—a delicate white cake with strawberry filling.

Baby, Blue: Natalie’s favorite color dictated the color scheme for her big day, with soft blue linens covering the tables. Guests dined on salmon, steak, and deviled eggs—the groom’s favorite—at the reception.

Set The Scene: “Natalie and Tanner had a clear vision, but we also worked together to pull together the small details that made it just right,” says Elizabeth. A long head table was made possible by flipping the table layout traditionally used at Marie Gabrielle. “It was one of my favorites,” she says.

Though COVID-19 may have eliminated bridal showers, engagement parties, and bachelor and bachelorette celebrations, high-school-and-college sweethearts Natalie Heineman and Tanner Horn count themselves lucky to have been able to make their dream wedding a reality. With the help of After Yes’ Elizabeth Gonzalez, they said “I do” in a romantic outdoor affair dressed in white florals and blue hues. Though planning amid a pandemic was stressful, it served to reinforce the couple’s devotion to each other and to their faith. “It opened our eyes to what is truly important,” Natalie recalls. “Not the wedding, not the ceremony, nothing of the world, but things that are eternal.”
