The Couple
Haley King and Ian Evans are not shy when it comes to giving back to the community: Haley works in risk management at Parkland Hospital, and Ian, a graduate of the Kilgore College Fire Academy, is a fireman and paramedic for the city of Lucas. When it came to online dating, it was another story–Haley was hesitant. Luckily, the reward outweighed the risk. “I still remember the first message Ian sent me,” Haley says. “It was so sweet and made him stand out right away.” Their first date “felt like having dinner with an old friend,” and they’ve been inseparable ever since.
The Proposal
Last Christmas, Ian joined Haley’s family on their ski trip to Breckenridge. They went skiing on Christmas day, and that evening, they went out to dinner and then back to their resort to finally open presents. After all the presents had been unwrapped, Ian announced that he had one more. He walked over to Haley with a box in his hands, and proposed in front of her family. They spent the next day skiing. “It was so exciting to be engaged and enjoying time together in the mountains,” remembers Haley.
The Wedding
The couple will be married on February 10, 2018 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Their ceremony will be followed by a reception at The Venue at 400 N. Ervay.
